It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce that we will be ending support for Google+ starting May 7,2019. We don’t end our support because we want to but because Google is pulling the plug On Google+. Google has been trying to save Google+ for years since it never really caught up with the crowd as Facebook and Instagram did, however they have finally decided to throw in the towel. While we’re sad to see Google+ go, we will continue supporting the top social media platforms we all use.
How will this change your service?
Listings Builder
- There is no longer an option to link to your Google + account when creating or editing an account.
- Google+ is not a Listing Source option anymore.
Social Marketing:
- You will no longer be able to connect to your Google+ account.
- You’ll be unable to post to Google+ and the option will no longer appear within the composer.
- The removal of Google+ has no affect on Google My Business.
Reputation Management:
- You will no longer be able to connect to your Google+ account
While losing an entire social media platform may seem like a giant loss, it is not since most of us simply use Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to connect with others. Google+ was a fun bonus and was never one of our main social media platforms for clients. In the end, this should have little to no impact on our client’s reputation.
