The Order Submitted trigger is a versatile tool that enables businesses to upsell customers after they have submitted an order. This trigger works seamlessly with both 1-step and 2-step order forms, offering flexibility to businesses in tailoring upsell opportunities based on the order form type or the specific products purchased.
It activates upon submitting an order form and again when an upsell purchase occurs, capturing relevant product information in both cases. This means that if a customer purchases products A and B through the order form and then buys product C through an upsell, the trigger will activate twice—first for the primary products and again for the upsell item.
There are several key distinctions between the Order Submitted trigger and the Order Form Submitted trigger:
With the above information in mind, navigate to the Automation > Workflows section in your account, and proceed to add the Order Submitted trigger to a new or existing workflow.
Update the name of the trigger to accurately represent its intended purpose.
The Order Submitted trigger provides a range of filters to customize workflows according to various order details. Click the “Add Filters” button to customize your trigger.Â
The “Global Product” filter allows you to trigger workflows based on a specific global product or price. You can select ‘Is’ or ‘Is not’ and choose a product from the dropdown.
The “Order Source” filter lets you specify the source of the order. Choose ‘Is’ or ‘Is not’ and select an order source from the dropdown.
For Order Forms, External Sources, or Stores, you can specify the sub-source you are interested in.
If “Order Form” is chosen as the source, you will be able to refine the trigger even further by utilizing the following filters:
The “In Funnel/Website” filter ensures that the workflow triggers only when an order form is submitted through a specific funnel or website. Select ‘Is’ or ‘Is not’ and pick the funnel or website from the dropdown.
The “Page Is” filter triggers the workflow when a form is submitted on a specific page in the funnel or website. You can select ‘Is’ or ‘Is not’ and choose a specific page from the dropdown. For example, selecting the “Registration Form” page in a funnel will trigger the workflow only when the form on this particular page is completed.
The Submission Type filter allows businesses to customize workflow triggers based on the type of purchase made by the customer:
The “Product Price” filter is useful when there are multiple pricing options for a product, such as a regular price and a promotional price. Choose ‘Is’ or ‘Is not’ and select the price from the dropdown.
These options provide businesses with flexibility in setting up highly tailored workflows.
By understanding and utilizing the various filters, operators, and custom value options, businesses can use this trigger to enhance their workflows to maximize revenue from existing customers while delivering a more personalized shopping experience.
