When triggered, the Remove Follower(s) From Opportunity action removes the specified user(s) from the opportunity’s follower list. If the “Remove All Followers” option is enabled, all followers associated with the opportunity are removed, regardless of the users listed in the Users field. This feature is particularly useful for streamlining follower lists or ensuring that only the relevant stakeholders remain assigned to an opportunity.
Navigate to Automation > Workflows, then create a new workflow from scratch or open an existing opportunity-based workflow.
Add the relevant opportunity triggers or the “Find Opportunity” action.
📌Note: This action requires an opportunity to be in context- either triggered directly by an opportunity workflow trigger or through a prior “Find Opportunity” step. If no opportunity is found, the action will not be executed.
Next, add the “Remove Follower(s) from Opportunity” Action.
Add a unique label for identifying this step within your workflow.
Select one or more users to be removed from the opportunity’s follower list. If a user is not currently a follower, no change is made for that user.
Enable the Remove All Followers toggle to reset the Followers assigned to the Opportunity.
Finally, save the action and activate the workflow to automate the process as required.
By automating this process, you can efficiently manage the users who have access to an opportunity, keeping the follower list streamlined and relevant to the current stage of the opportunity.
Scenario: A workflow is designed to unassign a group of users from a completed opportunity, ensuring that only the opportunity owner remains a follower.
Trigger: An opportunity transitions to the “Closed” stage.
Action: Find Opportunity
Action: Remove Follower(s) From Opportunity
In this example, once the Find Opportunity step identifies the closed opportunity, the Remove Follower(s) From Opportunity action removes the specified users from the follower list. If the intention was to clear all followers, enabling Remove All Followers would achieve this.
