The Manual Backup & Restore feature offers you control over your website’s data, ensuring flexibility, security, and consistency. This feature allows you to create backups at your convenience, storing them securely for 30 days and providing a reliable way to protect critical information. With the ability to create up to five manual backups every 14 days, you can ensure that your site’s data remains consistent and safe, while also tailoring your backups to meet specific needs. Let’s explore how to use this feature effectively to manage and restore your WordPress site.
Before diving into the step-by-step process, let’s explore the primary benefits this feature brings to your digital workspace:
Follow these simple steps to utilize the manual backup and restore feature effectively:
Navigate to the Sites tab from the left navigation menu and click on the WordPress tab. If your account is already connected to WordPress, you can skip the activation step. If not, click on the “Activate WordPress For” button.
Here, enter the required details and subscribe to activate WordPress hosting for your account.
Once your subscription is active, create a new site or select an existing site from the list.
You will now notice a “Backups” button. Click on this button to view the list of backups created in your account.
Click on the “Backup Now” button to start the manual backup process.
Name your backup according to your preference, select the necessary checkboxes based on what you need to back up (files, database, or both), and then click on “Create Backup.”
After initiating the backup, you can monitor the progress directly on the page. Once the backup is complete, it will be labeled as “Manual” in your backup list, indicating that it was initiated by you.
To revert your WordPress site to a previous version, select the Restore Version option associated with the desired backup. This action will overwrite the current site contents with those from the selected backup, ensuring that your site is restored to its earlier state.
Whether you’re safeguarding against unforeseen issues or need to restore your site to a previous state, this tool offers the flexibility and peace of mind you need.
