Sharing Downloadable Content with the File Widget

The File widget allows you to effortlessly share downloadable content with your site visitors. Whether it’s flyers, ebooks, or other documents, this widget enables downloads with a simple button click, making it easy for visitors to share your content via email or social media. Before offering downloads, consider the potential for your content to be shared widely. Be cautious with sensitive or personal documents and only upload files you own or have permission to use, respecting copyright protections.

Important Considerations #

• Public Access: All uploaded files (text, image, video, etc.) are publicly accessible. Avoid uploading personal or confidential information. To completely remove a file, delete it from the picker.
• File Limitations: Use standardized characters (a-z, 1-9) in file names, as spaces are not supported.

Content Editor #

To set up your file download button:

1. Accessing the Content Editor:
   • Right-click the widget and select Edit Content.
2. Customize Button Text:
   • Enter the text you want to appear on the button.
3. Add Files:
   • Click +Files to open the File Library window.
   • Click Upload Files to add new files.
   • Select an existing file or upload a new one, then click it to select.
4. Search Engine Settings:
   • (Optional) Check Set file to no index if you prefer search engines not to crawl the file.
5. Finalize:
   • Click Done to complete the setup.

Design Editor #

To customize the button’s appearance:

1. Accessing the Design Editor:
   • Right-click the element and select Edit Design.
